About
About Brightfold
Brightfold builds software that empowers schools. We bring smarter AI, secure governance, and powerful tools together to help K-12 school districts move forward with confidence.
We’re proponents of good education and good software. We’ve worked with some of the nation’s top school districts and built technology solutions that helped improve teaching and learning for millions of students.
What we build
- Brightfold Gateway: AI governance for every classroom. One control plane for every AI tool in your district, so you can see, filter, and log every prompt and response.
- Brightfold Scholar: AI tools for teachers, from lesson plans and leveled texts to writing feedback and IEP drafts, with every request governed by your district.
- Teacher Certification (PQ ESSA): instantly verify teacher certifications against course requirements and stay ESSA compliant.
- School Climate Dashboard: track key metrics and actionable insights to improve your school’s climate.
How we build
AI isn’t an add-on for us. It’s woven into every product we build, and we hold it to three non-negotiable principles.
- Privacy by design: your data stays yours. We collect less, process securely, and never sell personal information.
- Security at every layer: your data is secured with encryption and strict access controls, backed by continuous testing and monitoring.
- Ethics at the core: we build AI responsibly, with safeguards against bias, clear transparency, and human oversight.
We support the principles of the Student Privacy Pledge, and we design our products to comply with FERPA, COPPA, and applicable state student privacy laws. Read our Privacy Policy for the details.
Our name
The star in our mark stands for the bright potential we help every student and educator reach. The book stands for foundational knowledge and the continuous journey of learning. Together they form Brightfold: knowledge and potential, folded into every product we build.
